Recording Policy
Last updated: 17 May 2026
When you do your voice intro with Jonty, the call is recorded. This page explains exactly what we record, why, how we store it and what your rights are. For wider data handling, see our Privacy Policy.
What we record
- The audio of your onboarding call with Jonty
- A written transcript of what was said
- The structured details Jonty learns about your business (sectors, regions, contract sizes, business description), which we save to your profile
Why we record
The audio is a backup so we can verify Jonty heard you correctly when a match seems wrong. Without it, we would have no reliable way to debug a bad outcome. The transcript and profile power your matches every day; without them, Jonty would forget who you are between sessions.
Our legal basis
- Audio recording: legitimate interest (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(f)). We have assessed that recording is necessary for service quality, expected by users (you see a notice before the call begins and Jonty announces it verbally), and low-impact relative to the benefit of better matches.
- Transcript and profile: contract performance (Article 6(1)(b)). These are required to provide the matching service you signed up for.
How long we keep it
- Audio recording: 30 days, then automatically and permanently deleted by our storage provider’s lifecycle policy.
- Transcript and profile: for as long as your account is active. When you close your account, both are deleted within 30 days.
Who can access it
Only the Jonty team. The audio is stored in a private, encrypted bucket on cloud infrastructure in the UK. No customer, partner or third party has access to your recording. Voice and AI processing providers transiently process the audio during the call (for speech-to-text and matching), but do not retain it after the call ends.
What we never do
- We never use your recording or transcript to train AI models
- We never sell or share your call content
- We never use call content for any purpose other than running and improving your match flow
Your rights
You can request deletion of your recording, transcript or entire profile at any time. You can also object to the recording on legitimate-interest grounds. To exercise either right, email jonty@askjonty.ai. We will action your request within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can lodge a complaint with the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
